The story of the Cossy family begins in the 18th century on the slopes of Jouy and Pargny-lès-Reims. At that time, the vineyard was cultivated long before wine was ever made. The family lived simply off the land, following the rhythm of the seasons and a life of hard work.

Yet, within these patient gestures, the essentials were formed: an intimate relationship with the vine, built on humility, observation, and respect. Long before producing their first bottles, the Cossy family listened to, respected, and learned from the land.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Renée and Charles Cossy embodied a generation of courage and builders. Their story began in rural Champagne, where life was modest and work ever-present. Both grew up in Jouy-lès-Reims, and in the 1950s, they chose to build their life together in the same village.

Later, Geneviève and Francis embodied dedication and rigor. At the end of the 1970s, they decided to continue the family’s winemaking adventure, founding Champagne Francis Cossy together. From their commitment emerged far more than a family: a legacy of perseverance, solidarity, and deep attachment to the land. These silent values, passed down through generations, continue to inspire Sophie’s vision today.
